The welding fume experts, Kemper America now have mobile filters available for rental. So instead of investing capital in equipment, they become part of the company’s running costs.
There are currently two mobile filter models available for rent, both of which will extract welding fumes, particulate matter and welding smoke from the air and ensure that clean air is returned to the workspace used by welders.

Suitable for high alloy steel, the SmartMaster mobile unit was designed specifically for removing welding smoke and dust. Because it is IFA W3 certified it can also be used at stainless steel workstations.
It features an exhaust hood that rotates and swivels and can be used at a 360-degree radius. It may be equipped with a two or three meter (6,5 or 9,8 ft) exhaust arm or with a suction hose that has a nozzle for extraction. The exhaust arms move freely while the rectangular hood offers a 40 percent larger extraction field so that the exhaust arm doesn’t need to be repositioned too often.
A solid basic unit, the SmartMaster mobile filter is a compact unit that weighs 75 kg (156.5 lbs) without the exhaust arm and measures 711 mm x 660 mm x 889 mm (28 x 26 x 35 inches.) It offers an effective extraction capacity of 950 cubic meters (1,242 cubic yards) at the hood. The unit has a 1.1 kW motor and a noise level of 72 dBA.
It features a three-stage non-woven fiber disposable filter as well as two pre-filter mats that are inserted into the main filter. There is an acoustic warning system that sounds when the filter needs to be changed.
The robust sheet metal housing of this mobile filter makes it suitable for any industrial environment where there are low dust emissions. It is perfect for welding and maintenance shops where it can be used at different workstations.

More powerful than the SmartMaster, Kemper’s ProfiMaster mobile filter is suitable for higher dust emissions, and generally to control welding fumes and smoke. It is a robust filter unit that is ideal for frequent use in welding workshops, particularly in an industrial environment. Suitable for high alloy steel, it is IFA W3 certified, so may also be used where stainless steel is cut and welded.
Like the SmartMaster, the ProfiMaster features a rotating and swiveling exhaust hood that enables use in a 360-degree radius and ensures that only a few adjustments need to be made during the welding process. Exhaust arms are available in two, three and four meter (6,5 ft, 9,8 ft and 13,1 ft) lengths and they all allow free movement.
The ProfiMaster unit weighs 106 kg (234 lbs) without the exhaust arm, and measures 787 mm x 737 mm x 940 mm (31 x 29 x 37 inches.) Its strong 1.1 kW motor offers an effective extraction capacity of 1,100 cubic meters (1,438 cubic yards) directly at the hood at only 70 dBA.
Kemper’s ProfiMaster unit features a high capacity, single use, two-stage filter made from a non-woven fiber. When volume flow drops below a certain level because the filter is saturated, an acoustic warning signal is given. Like the smaller SmartMaster, the filters are easy to change.
